Baby Food recipes for 5-6 : Banana Pudding

Banana Pudding Is Simply Delicious

If you want something a bit off the beaten path for your next dinner party or holiday meal, try making a banana pudding for dessert. It combines the natural sweetness of the bananas with the creaminess of custard and is also an attractive dish to serve your guests. One of the simplest desserts imaginable is also timeless.

The basic form of banana pudding is nothing more than alternating layers of sliced banana with custard. However, over the years homemakers and cooks have introduced and made popular a few additions that really help this classic stand out. One of those additions is the inclusion of vanilla wafers or ladyfingers to the dish. This not only adds a crunchy texture to offset the rest of the pudding but allows for a lot of creative presentability.

Even with the addition of wafers, this dessert stays easy to make, and can even be enjoyed by infants due to the softness. Just crush the wafers up completely, mash the bananas, and you've got yourself a delicious desert that your child will love. You can find banana pudding flavored foods for infants in the supermarket but it's so easy to make yourself, why shouldn't you control the ingredients?

Speaking of ingredients, there's a lot you can customize within this pudding. For one, you can replace the custard with vanilla or banana flavored pudding mixes of course. These are sometimes a lot easier to have on hand than custard and they just enhance the other flavors so it's win-win if that's what you have available. You can also include ground cardamom, nutmeg, or cinnamon.

Whatever you choose do with your banana pudding, you can rest assured you're making a classic dessert for the people you care about. From novice cooks to experts this is a dish that stands the test of time for impressing and pleasing people of all ages.
